Northern Colorado is a wonderfully generous area, full of people who are willing to lend their neighbors a helping hand whether it be through boots on the ground with heavy lifting during flood recovery efforts, or through kind donations to fundraising campaigns. It’s one of the aspects of Colorado that make this such an amazing place to live.

We at Next Door Food and Drink know how important it is to help our neighbors when they need it most. Every time you order our Truffled Parmesan Potatoes, a very popular dish in our restaurant, we make a $1 donation to a local charity. That local non-profit organization is chosen each quarter to receive that donation.

We’d like to highlight one of our previous recipients, because the more people who know about our amazing local non-profits, the more help they can receive. We’ll continue to share information about all of our recipients here on our Next Door Food and Drink blog.

Denkai Sanctuary

Denkai Sanctuary

Denkai Sanctuary is a quality of life, no-kill organization dedicated to finding permanent homes for adoptable animals. They are the largest no-kill pet rescue in Northern Colorado. Every animal in their care stays there until they find permanent homes.

Denkai is unique in that it aims to provide a combination of services for animals in need, at-risk youth, and raising environmental awareness.

The Sanctuary, with two facilities located near Greeley, CO and Grover, Colorado surrounded by the beautiful and serene Pawnee National Grasslands, is home to more than 200 horses, dogs, cats and other animals on any given day who come from shelters, rescue groups and owners no longer able to care for their pets from around the United States. The Sanctuary has quickly become a destination for several hundred visitors and volunteers each year including local youth at risk who have found sanctuary themselves in the kindness offered to them.

You can find a list of their services from this link, as well as more information on their website. If you feel inspired to do so, you can donate directly to their website too.
